Well the children were amazing when they showcased their term’s work. Year 5 and 6 wowed parents, staff and children with their animations, interviews and feature presentation. Thanks to Shari Bee who created the DVD and led us on an incredible journey through film, editing and creation.

Today we have been talking about how we can show our work at the show after the easter holidays. We spent the day finishing all of our work like editing, filming intro’s, finishing stop frame animations, sound and interviews.

Production Wheel

Today we looked at the different stages of production and created a production wheel together.
Seven steps in movie making, from ideas to popcorn!
The Seven Stages of Filmmaking and Animation…
1. IDEAS + SHARING
First we have to do a LOT of talking and thinking and sharing to begin pulling out some ideas.
2. IN SEARCH OF THE NUT
Then we go looking for the nut of the idea – the reason for making our movie.
3. EDIT + STORYBOARD
When we find the nut, it is time to draw out a sequence. We do this with a storyboard.
4. SHOOTING SCRIPT
After the storyboard we need to start writing our script list, so that we know what to film first!
5. SHOOT + ACT + SHOOT + ACT
With the shooting script we can plan the shoot and organise our actors and scenes.
6. EDIT WITH BIG SCISSORS
Time to get tough with the computer and snip snip snip until we have our final movie.
7. SHOWTIME!!!!
Sit back, break out the popcorn and ENJOY!!
